Classical translation theories as inspiration for religious education, using the examples of Walter Benjamin and Jacques Derrida

In religious education discourse, the initiation and development of religious language skills are closely related to translation processes. With regard to ideas for selecting translation subjects and strategies for theologically appropriate translation of language understood as religious, classical translation theories have recently attracted attention on a theoretical level. This is where this article comes in, examining the translation theories of Walter Benjamin and Jacques Derrida in particular with regard to their potential for religious language skills in terms of object- and subject-oriented approaches on the one hand, and for practice-oriented accessibility to intralingual and intersemiotic translation processes on the other.
