Religious socialization can no longer be taken for granted among all students. In schools and religious education classes, this leads to encounters between different linguistic and conceptual worlds, in which religious terms and textual forms can take on the character of a foreign language for learners. Drawing on approaches from DaZ/DaF didactics, this article examines how religious language education can be implemented in language-sensitive subject instruction. Religious language education is understood here as a competence to be developed through a process that integrates individual language biographies and everyday language and can serve as a gateway to educational and religious technical language.
