This paper highlights the lexical challenges of interreligious and inter-worldview communication in the international lingua franca English. It argues that that the necessary language skills should be developed in cross-disciplinary cooperation between English as an Additional Language (EAL) and Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) classes. It is in this context that the paper presents the thematic English-German glossary Religion, Worldviews, Ethics which is being developed within the “CLIL in Religious Education” network at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. The glossary is based on an analysis of a broad range of written and oral texts in English and German and is designed as a resource for teachers, students and authors of educational materials.
