Plain language – the ideal solution or a temptation?

Abstract

The comprehensibility of scientific texts is an important desideratum. However, the question could arise as to whether “easy language” should also become the standard for scientific texts in order to make their content as accessible as possible. According to the basic thesis of the text, however, this would also lead to problematic reductions in complexity in theology and religious education, which would be based on rather paternalistic decisions.
